Can anyone tell me please if there is a label printer on the UK market on which one can specify the point size? It's for home use, not business.
TIA.

I think that you're probably out of luck then. To the best of my knowledge, the software within 'standalone' printers can't handle 'soft fonts' (where the font size can be fully dictated by the user). Each font size is a separate file within the software, meaning that (for example) there's a file for 8pt and one for 10pt but not one for 8.5pt. Sorry! Perhaps it...

If, by 'label printer', you mean a device that connects to a computer, any such printer should be capable of printing any font size, as it's the computer's software that control the output and not the printer itself. (i.e. I'm referring to the type of printers used to print address labels for parcels, etc).
If, however, you're referring to the type of label printer that uses a tape cassette, and which operates entirely independently from a computer, then this might suit your needs:

The range of font sizes available for it are indicated here:

Perhaps it might be better to look for a label printer that prints from a PC? The Brother QL-600B Labelling Machine (£59.99, from both Argos and PC World) might meet your needs. See the video here to see what it can do:

(I'm getting tempted to buy one myself now!)
