It seems these days everyone has a smart phone with all kinds of features in it. But i am happy with just my trusty simple mobile phone to make calls and texts, are there many people still with a mobile?.

Yes, me! And I hardly ever use it! Mind you, I do make swiping gestures on the bus, just to show off!

Yes, and I use it only when I go down to Devon to visit friends so I can let them know what time I will be arriving.

Do it the right way, atheist...or they'll just think you're on Tinder and desperate:-)
Yes and mine's very basic. I just use it for the odd text and I'm happy that way !
I am the same , only use it for calls and texts. My phone has the capability to do other things but it ate up the battery when they were switched on, and I seemed to be permanently charging it. Got a friend to disable them and can just about live with having a mobile phone now, even if it is an antique!
Mine is an old Nokia and quite adequate for my needs.
I have an iphone but I rarely use it. It's a works phone. I left it in the office for a week and didn't realise it was missing.
Sorry, Pix, I don't understand. What I do is, I wave my arms about and talk to myself as though I am talking to a 'friend'. Do you think that might pass for being modern?
Lol. No x
Modern people don't speak on the phone. They message.
Have a twenty year old Nokia that rarely gets used.
Love my smartphone, saved me money many times and got me out of scrapes.
If you're happy William that's all that matters.

Personally I wish I'd bought a smart phone long before I did, now I wouldn't be without it for sharing photos, checking and answering emails while on the move, keeping up with the news, using it as a calculator, torch, calendar, weather check, dictionary, posting on here, shopping online, texting, video calling, oh yes, and making the very occasional phone call too.
My smartphone takes the place of my desktop PC when I am out of the house. It pays for itself time and time again. Most days I see opportunities and need to assess an items value on the spot. Without the smart phone this would be impossible. Most days I need to communicate with ebay. I need to see images and links. A video link is often required in my work.
Many of my friends no longer have a computer as they can run their business from their phone.

Not that long ago a man called Ken Ollsen once said " there will never be a need for anyone to have a computer in their home".
Never say never regarding a smartphone !
I have a basic doro phone for work ( calls & texts) .. costs 6.00 a month! I also have an iPhone that only works on the home internet, I use it for speedier emails, Audible book downloads, calculator, camera ect..
Sorry .... Ken Olsen was a prominent computer industry pioneer who founded the Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) ..
Phones are too small for me to type.
You can always input by voice, ummm. Maybe not on the bus or in the middle of Tesco
I can't go anywhere without my S10. I use it in place of my tablet when I'm out.
When my Provider (Beardie's awful mob) stopped supporting my 20-year-old Nokia I cancelled the Contract, and bought another very cheap basic mobile with a SIM card to another provider.

I have deliberately not registered with this provider so I can take incoming texts only, which suits me as I only use it for login security codes. Registering would cost me £20 a month - for something I don't really need.
