Is there any way I can get it back please? I meant to delete only a photo but the whole long email disappeared. I've checked the Bin.
I'm on a laptop MacBook Air using Safari.
I feel sick now.
Can anyone help please?

Seems to be a lot of reply’s to what sounds irreversible to me Sad to say but I believe you will have to start from scratch lb May I suggest typing it all in Notes or similar and copy and paste it from there when you are happy with it

Is there not an undo button in the email ?
Have you checked your drafts folder?
Is the balnk email still there, if yes then rightclick and press undo
you should have a folder with deleted emails, they don't go straight away.
if you are using outlook you should be able to "undo" - other email servers may let you use the back button and get back to where you were. It's cold comfort I know but you should do long docs in word and save intermittently then paste the whole thing in at the end.

Sorry to those who have replied but I can't even get the question right now:-(
I deleted my REPLY to an email, not the actual email. It will take me another 2 hours if I don't find it.
Is there any way to get my reply back?
TTT, thanks I will certainly do as you suggest next time. Common sense really and I used to do that but now I forget! Sigh;-)
depends what you have done since, if you are using outlook then you should be able to "undo" but only if you've not been thrashing about doing other things in the interim.

TTT, I was careful to state that I was using Safari in my OP;-)
Most email providers have a facility that automatically saves a draft as you're working. As tiggerblue suggested, check in the drafts folder. Should be in a menu on the left probably.
Question Author
Jan thank you but the first place I looked was the Draft Folder. I think the problem is that I haven't deleted an email, that is still there. It is my long reply to the email that has gone. I had finished it and decided to put a photo at the bottom which I did. Then changed my mind, and deleted what I thought was only the photo, I had it highlighted, but my whole reply disappeared. Grrrh!
when you selected it, did you select "cut" or "delete"? if you said cut then it's still in your paste buffer. Just open up a word doc and do CTRL+V and it'll paste it in.
Is your mail web based?

If not perhaps you were using the Mail program.

Is the orinial email still open and in reply mode? If so you could try command z - but that won't work if you've closed the email and reopened it.

Command z is undo last action - and in some cases you can undo multiple actions.
Do you have a 'trash' folder ? Anything I delete goes there.
"TTT, I was careful to state that I was using Safari in my OP;-) " - Safari is a browser it has no bearing on this.
it may still be on the clip board if you used "cut".
Question Author
I'm using gmail for my emails Tuvok. Too late now to use Command Z as I have been in and out so many times. I did just give it a try but no luck. Thanks for reminding me about that function.
Thanks BS if I had deleted the whole thread (which is about 12 emails long) it would have gone in the Bin. But I didn't, I accidentally deleted my reply. I give up now but I can't face another 2 hours doing it again tonight. Seriously I get dafter by the day:-(
As TTT says, if you used 'cut' it should still be on your clipboard whether you've signed out or not. Paste it into a word doc and save it in a folder then open the email to reply.
lb I use gmail too and everything I delete goes into 'trash'.
Question Author
Tiggs I didn't use "cut" I used "delete".
Sorry TTT I am using gmail. I've never used Word since I started using a Mac 20 years ago.
I did a test, I typed an email and then deleted it and there it was in 'trash'.
