Have you done as I suggested and connected by ethernet and then done a speed check?

Our internet kept going off. They said nothing wrong with the line . Broadband speed,like yours was very low. Talk talk sent an engineer the following day. After testing he said nothing wrong inside the house. Fortunately there is a control unit across the road and after opening it and checking everything he said the fault was in the unit( don't know the proper name ). He fixed it and the broadband speed is back to normal. All is fine now. Don't know whether this will be any help to you .

2.5 when connected by ethernet? A WiFi booster would be of absolutely no use. Get back on to your provider, something is wrong.
Just a thought, connect the other laptop by ethernet and do the speed test again.

probably a fault in the exchange ie the green box you see around streets etc, ring them and get the to ask open reach to check the line.

test with other laptop 57.o3 dell laptop
done a acer speed test 15.7

57.3 is good. No problem with supply so a wifi booster might help.
Where exactly is your router? Is it close to your TV, a thick wall, low down, or near any sort of obstruction?
The slow speed of the Acer is caused by your Acer wifi card, not your wifi.

Are you using WiFi ?
If not then a booster wouldn't help, and if you are then in any case speed would go back to normal if you brought the device nearer the router.
