All of a sudden when I switch on, instead of going to START and news headlines it goes to MSN
which means I cannot ask questions.
ALSO when I want to type in Upper Class letters I have to hold on the Shift key.

Any advise Please (cannot afford to buy a new laptop at this moment)

Thanking you.

Sorry dont get that bit. You mean on Answerbank? Just put answerbank in the address bar and bookmark it. Go in settings to change default home page to whatever you want
Not sure what you mean by 'START'. What operating system are you using?

For upper case you should have a 'CPS LOCK' key, left hand side half way down.

Thank you for getting back to me.
Sorry, should have stated I have no problems with my
favourites.

The problem is when I switch my laptop on Normally it
says START in the top left hand corner Now that has disappeared
and the letters are MSN and then you are asked to confirm..
which means I cannot get into Google or Bing (have had
these sites working for years.

Re: the CAPS lock is not working which is the reason I have
to hold the shift key.

Have I put this on the wrong site ?
Is it a Windows laptop? I have never seen a Windows machine that has 'Start' in the top left hand corner when I switch it on.

Do you have a search bar in the bottom left of the screen?
Question Author
Yes, and I have went into it alas no help.

At least I have my favourits bar which is a great help.

Perhaps a picture would clarify the problem.
I've been thinking about your laptop but am still baffled. I have never encountered a PC that displays in that way when turned on.
As for your Shift Key, when the laptop is properly turned off turn it upside down and give it a shake. If that doesn't solve it the key can be prised off so you can blow or brush any debris awsy

Thank you Barry,
I shall try that later.
Am back and forward to the Hospital at the moment.
which is the reason I have not been back sooner.

Hope you have a pleasant Sunday.
