You have probably accidentally disabled it - one of the keys on the top row will enable it, you may need to be press the FN key at the same time

Try F6 first

When I used a laptop I used to hate the touchpad. Another tech irritation used to make out it had been touched whenever that would cause an issue. Yes, probably disabled it. Thank your lucky stars and go with the mouse option instead.

OG, many people find the touchpad quick, convenient and easy and prefer it to a mouse.  Hard to use a mouse with a laptop on your lap.

That's what the side of your thigh is for. But I rarely used one on my lap, almost always on a desk or table.

Many thanks to you for your help and advise.  I do prefer the touchpad to the mouse, but always a matter of choice.

Thanks to Barry F6 did the trick.

Glad you're sorted
