I am on ADSL and when connected to the internet my connection freezes for about 30 secs every 5 or so minutes, what could be causing this?

It could be various reasons, you need more details about your computer: Bad Phoneline, you are using an extension cord. You placed a Filter on the phone that the DSL modem is attached to (most DSL comapanies have these filters to put on your phones). Something is installed on the computer your DSL line doesn't like. Maybe a virus?
