down loading files

hi folks why when i have down loaded a file sutch as lost the t.v programe on say kazaa or newnova org and burn to disc then play it back on my d.v.d player it looses sycronization on sound to visual why is this? i have scaned the files with avg to virus check and also turned off zone alarm while it burns to disc please help you clever people out there chers

Unfortunately its sometimes the case that the problem is in the file itself - they can quite often be out of synch.(I had one the other day, quite noticeably out of synch - that was an episode of Lost aswell as it happens :-))

same problem for me too with lost ! i now just watch them on my pc.

Sometimes the files aren't encoded properly and are out of synch to begin with, but if it's a regular occurence it's more likely to be down to whatever program(s) you are using to convert the file to DVD format and burn it. Another culprit can be your computer - both jobs use a lot of resources, so depending on how good your machine is, you may want to run those jobs when nothing or little else is going.

Are you using Nero? The reason I ask is because this happens to me quite a lot, even though I can watch the video on my pc without any synch problems.I tried it on 3 different PC's (all using Nero) but it still kept happening.I even purchased the latest version of Nero, but still the synch problems kept happening.In the end I started using Roxio to burn the video to disc, and have not had a problem since.Roxio is a lot slower than Nero, but the results are always spot on.I still use Nero most of the time, and only use Roxio if the video is out of sych when I burn using Nero.I have absolutely no idea why the synch problems occur.
