help find my husband a mobile phone!
My husband needs a new mobile. His old Nokia has just about had it! He only contacts me and rarely phones, spending about 15-20 per month at the most on texts only. He is currently on Pay and Go with O2, but texts and calls are proving a bit expensive. He doesn't want anything fancy, doesn't need any gadgets, and wants comfortably sized keys as he has big fingers. What's the best deal?? And can you also explain what Sim-free means? Would it make sense for hubby?? Thanks

What I really want is a recommendation for a suitable phone. Any advice on good pay as you go deals would be appreciated, but my priority is to find a resonably-priced phone which meets my husband's needs. I should also add that I am currently on a contract with 02, so it might help for him to stay with them. Thanks again.
"Sim Free" means the phone does not have a SIM card - you need to put in your own. If you have had your contarct phone for a while, could you not try the old "phone up O2 and claim that you have had an offer of a new phone from another network" to get a new phone? Then put the SIM from his old phone in your phone or the new one.
Mind you, if he's spending 20/mth on texts he might be better off with a contract phone with a large text allowance contract.
Can't help with the model, I'm afraid!
My mobile is Nokia 6030 and is probably perfect for your husband. My own husband bought one as soon as he saw mine and as he's completely anti-techy that says a lot.
It's a gorgeous little phone, does everything you need and incredibly simple to use - no photo option although I can receive pics sent by my son. The keys are raised which is another must-have in its favour. It is Orange, although I'm sure O2 would have it.
