camera lens

a REALLY stupid question considering i'm a photography student, but will any camera lens fit in any camera. i mean SLR. I have a cosina ct-1. do i need to buy cosina lenses, or can i get say, a vivitar or a canon lens for it? <i'm so ashamed i dont know this already.>

Not really, but the interchangeability relies on the type of mount installed on the camera... some will, some won't... check here:

You can use lenses which have a Cosina fit. You can also buy adapters to allow the use of third party lenses.
