Does anyone know of a program or method to allow vitual CD drives. There are several games I like to play, all of which are on CD. It would be nice if I could copy the CD onto to the hard drive and run it from there, as I have planty of hard disc space. Most programs check to see if the CD is actually in the drive before allowing you to play the game. Any ideas?

An alternative would to use a no-cd crack from somewhere like http://gamecopyworld.com/ You install the game add the crack and you don't need the CD. (perfectly leagal if you own the game)
Try Alcahol 120%
Clone cd is very good, but not free:

Alcohol 120 or Daemon Tools spring to mind...

Many thanks for all your suggestions.
The link to Daemon Tools on Afterdawn no longer contains a download link, due to a change in the law in Finland apparently.
I'm going to try Clone CD which sounds like exactly what I'm looking for and appears to be Freeware which is even better. I'll let you know how I get on in a day or two and post the result as another reply here.
