Putting images on the web

If I put images on MySpace either by hosting them somewhere like ImageShack or creating a slideshow, eg through slide.com, do I have to keep my images in the original place on my computer?
For instance, if I created a slideshow by uploading images that were in a folder on my desktop, & then moved that folder or deleted it, would that wreck my slideshow??

Once you've uploaded photos to a site, they are hosted there, and you can do what you like on your own pc. If you think about it, if people needed to view them as they look on your pc, then each time you turn your pc off, the pictures would disappear off the web.
