myspace backslash

on myspace, whenever I try to type a \ it goes to two fullstops, why is this and how can i stop it?

When coding a web page, most directions (slashes and such like) are to enable the browser to find and display your items, be they pictures or video files. The backslash is read by browsers as 'carry on down this route', whereas the two fullstops tell a browser to 'go back up one folder'.

what it is is this bunny picture that looks like (\__/)

and I want it on my page but when I type it in on the edit my profile bit it looks like it is shown here but then when I save the changes and actually look at the profile the first ear changes from (\ to .. is there anything I can put in, maybe in html code to stop it?

the html code for the backslash symbol is-
ampersand hash 92 semicolon so you could try that.

thanku very much, havent had a chance to try it yet cos myspace has crashed and all my profiles gone back to how it would be when you first set one up...annoying or what!!
