sound on tv disappeared....

any help would be appreciated please..... picture is still there, have checked all connections, i've lost instructions, tv is about 2 yrears old and not under any guarantee. any ideas please? thanks in advance

Do you use a freeview box, cable or sky? 2 years is not a long time for a tv to go.

I had a similar problem with my tv, and it was the scart lead from the TV to the cable box.

If you use a scart lead, unplug and blow away any dust and push back in. If that dosent work, try a new scart lead.

its telewest, and i've just tried a new scart lead from another tv in the house and still not working...

If your TV has a headphone or other "audio out" socket test those to see if they work. If they do, it's likely to be a problem with your TV. Possibly the internal speaker connection?

Also try using another TV and the same connections - this will tell you whether the problem is with the signal coming to your TV or the TV.

P.S. You haven't "muted" the Telewest box have you?

hi, i have tried different tv, got telewest to check externally, now seems i'll be off tv shopping.
