I recently upgraded my package from 1 to 2 Mb. How do I check I am ACTUALLY connecting at the increased rate? The "status" icon tells me my connection speed is 2,326,528 bps - what does the B stand for? I know the "per second" bit. Sorry to all you IT experts with this basic stuff but some of us are a bit green (mind you, can you cook cakes like me??!!).

I think the "b" is Bits (not bytes? unless someone else posts otherwise!).

So 2,236,528 bps = 2.23 Mb(ps) (megabits).

So your getting 0.23Mb extra free! Tell your ISP you want to pay for the extra! It sometimes goes over or under the stated speed.
If you go to broadband speed check sites you may get a more accurate check on your speed.

One such site that I use and find reliable is;

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/

Scroll down the boxes on the left of the site til you come to "Speed Test" and click on that and follow the instructions
