Mobile phone upgrade

I'm on PAYG with T-Mobile have been for past 5 years or so, I don't use the fone a vast amount (I have a work fone too) but have been told that I may still be able to get it upgraded. I went into a T-Mobile shop and they looked at me like I was a right muppet - which has put me off rigning to ask. Do you think its worth a try or do you know a website where I can find out?

If you are on PAYG you don't get an upgrade on your phone no company's do this.
You can change your PAYG deal though...
You may be able to get a new phone on your works one but only if this is on a contract.
