please can someone tell me how much 500MB is in terms of internet? just an idea, eg, a lot or not much at all!!

If you're referring to the amount of free webspace offered to customers by an ISP, it's massive. (You could host several major commercial websites with that amount of space).
However, if you're referring to the monthly download limit which some ISP's offer, 500Mb is 'next to nothing'. (If you need to calculate your likely monthly download usage, use this calculator:

If you want to know how long a 500Mb download would take, it depends upon your connection. On a dial-up connection, it would take around 30 hours. With a 2Mbps broadband connection it might take around 45 minutes.

Are you talking about download limits ?
A digital photograph can be 1Mb or 2Mb so you could download 250 or more
An MP3 song can be 4Mb or 5Mb (or more) so you could download around 100.
But a single video clip could be 50Mb, or 100Mb or even 500Mb. So if a video clip was 500Mb you could only download 1.
But if you are just talking about e-mails and general surfing the net then 500Mb is quite a lot (as long as you dont download a lot of large files like video)
