Domain Buy Service AND GoDaddy.com

I recently used the GoDaddy.com Domain Buy Service and had an absolutely terrible experience with it. The person handling my particular case was inefficient, unresponsive and unprofessional and as a result I paid about $70 dollars for nothing. Because of this situation I do not intend to give GoDaddy any more of my business.

Could you please recommend other similar services that you've heard good things about?

How should i go about buying the domain i am going after? I've looked up their information on WhoIs and I could not find an email or phone number to contact. What other domain brokerages would you recommend? What other strategies should i consider in order to obtain this particular domain name?

so are you saying the name is in use?

The name is owned by somebody else but it is currently not being used. Its just a page with 3 ads on it. (One of which is for GoDaddy.com) The domain name is very much for sale I just need to know how to go about connecting with the current owner outside of using Godaddy. Thanks for your response.
