AVG Warning

Recently I have sometimes started to get the following warning when trying to open some links on Answerbank:

"Danger: AVG search-shield has detected active threats on this page and has blocked access for your protection"

I only get this when using "Firefox" it doesn't happen when I use "Internet Explorer".

Has anyone else had this problem, and is it safe to ignore?

Hi anotheroldgit. I am getting exactly the same warning from AVG when I open Yahoo emails, using Internet Explorer. Only started happening yesterday - haven't a clue why or how to solve it. Perhaps it has something to do with the recent news that MSN and Yahoo have been hacked and infected. Who knows?

read somewhere on this site that AVG was itself was causing the problem. Another poster had the "paid-up" version and didn't have any problems. I think it was posted in the Q&P section tho.

Sorry it took so long to reply to you alba,I was busy watching the other thread.lol
To past a link to a site (or another question on ab),go to the page you wish to paste a link to,highlight the whole text in the internet address bar,right click on it to copy,then go to the page you wish to past the link into and right click again and select paste.

thanks daffy, NoM also suggested ctrlc then ctrl v too. will keep trying,
my OH says I am VERY trying lol

I have recently tried again and all is well, mine was also a newspaper site, but a National one.
