I have a Canon MP190. As far as I can tell from the on-line manual, when I replace the printer cartridges, the machine should recognise they are new and the low ink warning lights should go out. It's still telling me the ink is low - is this because I've used a compatible brand of cartridge and not canon ones? I can't find how to manually change the ink level settings.

Patch, try taking it out and wipe the chip with a dry cloth, this is what we were told to do and it worked.

Thanks for this idea. Sadly it didn't work. I'll keep a spare handy and get the proper refils next time!
