I have a Sony DVD player/recorder with hard drive.

In the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) the names and times of the programmes have ceased being displayed.

Can anyone please tell me the reason for this, and how I can get them restored?

Deleted the SMTP(Out going server number) Now I can't sent emails

Do a full Re-Scan on your DVD Recorder to see if that makes a difference. Re-Scanning should take place about once a month as New Channels come on air and others are replaced.
If you have inbuilt Freeview on your TV do full Re-Scan there as well.
