Stewpot Stewart. That must have been in the early 70s?
Sir Alec - who do you mean?
HalifaxMum:
I'll admit that the museum was (far) better when it was the National Museum of Film and Photography but it still has some good special exhibitions (such as the works of great contemporary photographers, such as Martin Parr).

Sir Alec:
MK has actually got a greater variety of architectural styles than many other towns which were developed around the same time. (Ever been to Basildon?)

Ummmm:
I have to admit that driving to/from/around or anywhere near to Milton Keynes can be an 'interesting' experience if you've not consulted a map beforehand ;-)
I suppose it must...
And loads and loads of roundabouts Chuck....
oh ha ha lol u mean the friends who got me the ed stuart albums - no! they were top of the pops in the late 70s!!! lol
Stewpot?
Only you 'youngsters' really remember him ;-)
(Some of us are old enough to remember Derek McCullough, a.k.a. 'Uncle Mac')!
Buenchico - it was an average museum when it was the NMPFT - now, it is pants. Sorry but it is true.

There are so many others that make it look like the poor cousin.

Bradford - be ashamed.
Is The Point still in MK? We used to call it What's the Point? It will be alright when they take the scaffolding down.
LOL@Buenchico I'm no 'youngster' but I remember Stewpot!

Getting that super-thick album from not one, but two of my friends for my birthday, when all I had to thank them for was some jelly, blancmange and candles to blow out!
I thought that it was known as "The Point of No Return", Sir Alec ;-)

It's still there:

I`ve never been to Milton Keynes but I think it is like Basingstoke in that it is one of those 1970s planned towns. About 10 years ago someone wrote an alternative tourist guide to the UK and their description of Basingstoke was:- M3, roundabout, duel carriageway, roundabout, housing estate, petrol station, tart (!) duel carriageway, roundabout M3. The locals were incensed but it was funny.
Ah, Halifaxmum, a proper old fashioned birthday party. Not like now, where apparently kids compete to see who has the best cake. Brats!

'Duel' (?) carriageway, 237SJ. Well it could hardly be called boring then, could it? ;-)

I really must stop typing like I talk!
Chris, a duel carriageway is where you have to fight for your lane.

You may be confusing it with a diamond-lined row of green vegetables...
237SJ;
I'm glad that you've got a sense of humour ;-)

Mark:
You might have lost me there but that's probably to do with the excess of real ale which I've consumed tonight ;-)

I shall sign off here and wish you all Goodnight!
Chris, Have had plenty of real ale (and whisky) myself as it was the last Gaelic class of the term.

Anyway, jewelled cabbage-way...
Goodnight. My favourite ale is Theakstons Old Peculier.
