Cheapest Train Travel

Hi ABers, my daughter is going to uni in Sheffield and I'm looking to go up and see her from time to time. Does anyone travel from the March / Ely area to Sheffield by train and knows the cheapest tickets? I know sometimes it's cheaper to buy tickets between certain stations rather than one that goes from start to finish. Thanking you in advance.

Rebooking at Peterborough is probably the best thing to try. There looks to be a fair selection of cheap tickets from there to Sheffield. There's none from March and few from Ely.
