A friend and I want to go to Blackpool for the day and we are 15 - parents say yes! Just for a day in the summer and I was wondering what is the best way to get there from the Isle of Man?

Does the Douglas - Fleetwood ferry still run? (Used to be Summer only, but I can't find it on a web site). If so, thats easiest as you can the tram from Fleetwood into Blackpool. I think the ferry is about 2 hrs each way. Only other choice is to fly to Blackpool from Ronaldsway (best to phone Ronaldsway for details)

Your only options really are taking the boat or plane to Liverpool, then getting a direct train, or getting the boat to Heysham then going by train (change at Lancaster & Preston)

It will be a lot of travelling for a day trip
Just found this site http://www.flybnwa.co.uk/ which gives the IOM-Blackpool return air fare as 105 . Also only one flight each way per day. Bit pricey for 7 1/2 hours in Blackpool!
