Can anyone confirm that the electricity in Dubai is 220v, and that the plugs are the same as UK ie 3 pin? Thank you.

I think Jude is trekking the length and breadth of the UK! No seriously she's been going on her long walks. She's OK.
A'noon each...lovely sunny day here, really warming up now. The downside is I'm a bit sinus headachey, maybe there'll be storms before long. Anyway it's all downhill now it seems, we'll be shaking the moths out of the liberty bodices soon. Speaking of moths there was dead one in my bed with me the other morning. Story of my life.

Hip hip hurray for British Gas! :) Are you free flowing now shaney? Yes, I keep wondering about Jude too. YoohooJood. :)

wonders how many handbags we could make out of one leathery jno
It's starting to brighten up here now .I wish a breeze would get up ,my washing's hanging there all limp.
Yes all freely flowing again Robinia .I'd hardly put the phone down from calling BG when the chap rang to say he'd be along shortly That drain is always blocking although I'm really careful about putting anything greasy down the sinks etc and am forever chucking soda crystals down.
These houses are old though and built well before the advent of washing machines ,dishwashers, daily baths and showers etc.Plus the water company don't come and clean out the gullies on a regular basis like they used to do.
its very gaspy here too and we keep getting the edges of the storm. very unpleasant.
Well, it came over all hot and sticky here so we sat round the pool for a couple of hours. Then it got cloudy and cool and even a Little light rain so strolled into town, had lunch and came back. Signs said it was 28 or so - I would have said much less but I suppose I am getting too acclimatised to 40 degrees. It's probably much the same here as you're getting at home

2nd attempt.
Shaney why don't you occasionally bung a kettle of hot water down the drains, it'll keep, the grease from banging up.
My one and only sewer pipe is under the back patio and if it bungs up ( hija's hair is the main culprit) I just lift the stone sewer lid and wobble a stick about or shove it about, yes it,is also the loo sewer, bung a few buckets of water down with force and hey presto, bobs yer uncle! I am fascinated by sewers, although ours are much more simple than yours. I first learnt when we bought the cottage in Truro and it was bunged with the previous owners nappies. The drain man showed me sewer worms so I could tell if it was getting blocked and showed me how to clear it. Been doing it ever since, but these things don't worry me or make me squeamish.

Jno I do hope you are partaking of Spanish tapas and food and not egg N chips!

Went to make a cuppa and found Mousey peeing in her corner, with no poo box, just on her oilcloth and towel, I was incandescent, just don't understand her, she is old and forgetful, now though. Anyway I have a hugelasting sheet used to covering the washing in three rain, so have draped that from the to of the sideboard and along the ground with a new towel and her poo box.

Well almost cipherable.........
Meatbally things today, albondigos is it, in almond sauce. I said albondigos NOT ALSO DINGOS. But it's mostly buffet breakfasts and dinners at the hotel, very boring and I don't think very Spanish. So it's only lunches. And yesterday was Burger King because we only had 20 minutes before meeting at the mosque and you can't get served in 20 minutes at a proper caff.
I'm always pouring hot kettles of water down the sinks and drain Neti along with soda crystals.I put no fat down the sink and always wipe the plates before they go in the dishwasher . The drains all need renewing I think but costo mucho. Others along here also have problems from time to time.He inspected it right down to the bottom of the drive, lifted manhole covers and it was all clear. 'Tis a mystery.
Ooh I like a Burger King now and again Jno.I think I'd rather have had that than albino dingos .
Very muggy here tonight .It eventually got out really hot this afternoon. It'll soon be over and back to fluffy slippers soon. Then we'll be griping 'cos it's cold :)
Night all.Keep cool.
Morning...can someone hit the button that catapults me off this bed please?

Albondigas are nice, callos (tripe) are not, most tapas depend on the sauce anyway.
Good morning
POKES ROBI WITH A RUSTY POINTED STICK , gerrup!
Definitely feel better although chest still painful but only slightly. On tenterhooks waiting for hospital to, phone re nose job, am bricking it now.
OUCH! If I develop lockjaw I'll sue.

Buenos días...I'm mobile and fragrant now. I don't think my insides would cope with spicy Spanish dingos, I like to keep it simple.
Try not to worry neti but I can imagine how you must be feeling, I'd be beside myself.

Apparently it reached 29C here yesterday, wouldn't have thought it that high though. It clouded over in the afternoon and the wind was so strong it made me cough and my eyes sore so I had to go inside. No storms except in my head.

Tarquin's been training a new generation of gardeners. I bought the boys some sunflower seeds when we went to the garden centre earlier this year and they've done so well (will send a pic). Not sure what happened with the nasturtiums. I'll get them a lawnmower for xmas and they can use it here. :)

Stonking hot here 30C.
I'm under the trees and brolly with a book.
I'm under the table with a Bacardi and the Bunty..... :)

Seems to have cooled down here. We were promised rain but have clouds. Am taking it easy as still no energy. Am trying to type correctly with no rubbish.

Just checked and we are down to 28° and humidity is 64% wonderful. Must light the fire soon!!
28 here in London, a lot warmer than it was in Andalucia yesterday. The egg and chips plant is enormous. Well, the aubergine part is, we haven't dug up the potato to see if it's grown too.
