What do I need to buy to enable my mobile phone charger, travel irons etc... to work in the Dominican Republic?  Some dort of adapter or transformer.  I am aware it uses 110V but what does this mean in practise?  Thanks...

Not alot you can do really unless you want to go to loads of trouble with specialist electrical equipment! These things will still work when you go they just don't work as effectively. You can buy travel irons rated for 110v though so that might be worth considering.
