For my birthday my hubby has said he will take me away for a couple of nights without the kids. Any suggestions? I'm open to all from Britain to abroad. We would be flying from Glasgow if its abroad.

Why not head for the North York Moors - an easy and scenic drive - there are some excellent hotels and lots to see and do.

This is probably the best hotel I have stayed in over the last few years :

I recommend somewhere like Helmsley as well as S-D but I'd stay here (it's about 100 yards round the corner from Black Swan)

Stay in Scotland, LOTS of beautiful and lovely hotels, spas ,scenery. Everything you could possibly want for a couple of days is within an hour or twos drive. You have Loch Lomond on your doorstep and you have Loch Ness within an easy drive. Both gorgeous locations and with excellent hotels. Wherever you decide to go, I wish you a GREAT time.
