I only just noticed it says on the airline {Norwegian airlines}website that we should have put our advanced passenger info /passport numbers etc into there website 72 hours before travelling... we are flying tomorrow morning at 6am. I didn't no this rule and have only just put the info in. Can they stop us going on the flight-holiday?

I doubt it. Some people rock up to the airport to look for a flight so they can't possibly do it in advance.
shouldn't think so, they've got it now. I imagine it's the Americans who get most nervous about it. But you could ring up the airline and ask.
You'll be fine, worst case is they'll check your passports more thoroughly so adding a bit of time.

thanks guys, don't fancy spending the next 7 days in Costa del Gatwick, even if I do love shopping...
It won`t be a problem. I have turned up for a flight 1/2 an hour before it departs and the check in staff have had to put my API in.
The 72-hour rule only applies to flights to the USA (and, incidentally, applies to ALL airlines):

You'll have no problems if you're flying to anywhere else. (If you're flying to the USA, I suggest contacting Norwegian on 0330 828 0854, to seek their advice. However the decision on whether to admit you or not is ultimately up to the US authorities).

You'd be hard pressed to do any shopping at Gatwick if you don't get to Airside (which you won't if they refuse you travel). There are now virtually no shops Landside at Gatwick.

Seriously, as others have said, you should be fine. If you travel again in the future API is now a standard requirement for all airlines.
That`s not true Buenchico.
