New York - First time.
Hello!
First things first. what is the international dialling code for US? i am a uk'er and with v-o-d-a-f-o-n-e, i have a friend in New Jersey(who doesn't know code!!!). i know uk is "+44**********". what is the US prefix ???(***)******.
I am staying in NYC for 5 days(arrive early sat, leave late tues).
Secondly. apart from the obvious sights(s.o.liberty,empire state building etc) is there any less well known, but "hidden gems" sights/places/areas.
This is my first time in US/NYC ANY info/experiences/pointers that will improve my time there will be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou.
HAVE A HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!

the staten Island ferry is well worth a trip great views of liberty and the round boat trip is good value, also the apple bus can get on and off all day long and takes you everywhere Cathedral of St Patrick and St John's are worth seeing. and of course a broadway show, tickets are cheaper near swatch shop in times square. theres so much to see really (Have been 7 times) but wrap up well its bitterly cold have a good trip
If you are taking your mobile phone, is it tri-band with the roaming bar removed?
