I'm not one for sightseeing, Tamaris, but there are 2 things i would absolutely love to see - the Grand Canyon and the Northern Lights. One day, maybe, one day...............

I'll have a look Bobby x
There used to be a Scandinavian cruise that went from Noth Sheila’s here, I think they did the N Lights too
I think I dated Noth Sheila for a while. Lovely lass.
I want to see the Aurora Borealis too. Where is the best place in Scotland to see them?
-- answer removed --
Have seen them in Dundee Tiggs, but quite unusual. Best place to see them is the Shetland Islands.
Not a cruise but we visited Rovaniemi while judging a dog show in Finland and we were lucky enough to see a brief glimpse of the Northern Lights when we visited the Santa Claus village.
Northern Lights? You could start with Blackpool...
Haha, bloody pre text will be the finish of me Zac

Ginger, I've already done the Blackpool ones, lol
Yeah, the Blackpool lights always look a tad man-made, to me.

Tamaris, did you fly over the Grand Canyon? That's what i would want, a helicopter ride the length and breadth just to fully realise the magnificence of it.
you're not guaranteed to see the Aurora on any particular cruise, or any particular location. but here's one way of exploring -

the hurtigruten, or "coastal express" isn't a cruise per-se, but a working transport route, serving much of coastal Norway right up to Kirkenes.
Think again, Ken. We planned to do that when we moved to Canada. Then we saw on the news just how many planes and helicopters crash in the Grand Canyon. Be lovely to see from above but we stayed on the ground. :-)
I saw the northern lights when in the north of Norway many years ago and very impressive they were too.
There were some brilliant photos on FB very recently taken at Cove in Berwickshire.
Yes Grand Canyon wonderful, but I prefer cruising to somewhere warm.
