costa brava

Has anyone been to Tossa de mar in the costa Brava, what is it like and will it still be warm end September early October? thanks

its the most northerly of the costas so will be cooling down a bit then. still be warmer than here though! should have plenty of sunshine and temps will be high 60's to mid 70's i'd think. tossa de mar is less commercialised than resorts such as lloret de mar (on the same costa) or benidorm (costa blanca) but still has all the usual tourist amenites. you''ll be able to find english pubs as per all touristy areas but if you have a hunt around you can find more traditional areas close by. its one of the nice areas on costa brava and relatively inexpensive also

Only spent a few hours there (dropping off my daughter at the sailing school) and it seemed OK. Loret is the last place I would go - "english" pubs, fish and chips and lots of fat guys in British football tops, Cheaper to go to Blackpool.

I couldn't agree more Gef, Lloret is horrendous, Went to Toss several years ago and found it much nicer. Lots of nice eating places in the old town. But it was 10+ years ago.

I agree with Gef & JimJools, i've been to Tossa & really liked it.

While i was there, i went on a day trip to Llorett & i hated it. Ended up staying for about an hour instead of the day & got the first boat straight back to Tossa.

Thanks ABers! Sounds like we've picked the better resort! everyone seems to go loret and i thought we'd perhaps picked the duff resort. cheers for taking the time to answer my question!

went last year for 2 weeks, july, nice quiet place most of entertainment is at the hotels, try the sherwood pub on the main drag, cant miss it got a statue of robin hood outside, alex and monika are great hardworking young couple, the local ferry is ideal to get to other places , lloret, etc. some very good eating places, we found one on the front 2 course meal 7 euros, went in nearly evry night, food brill. overlooks the beach, and the tower. thinking of going back for a week only this year - quiet relaxing place, early closing in most places

if the bars are quiet, just shop around.
