Most hotels have very steep stairs a reasonably priced hotel is The King or try www.easytobook.com and you can book a room online you use a credit card to confirm booking but pay for the room when you arrive.
let me start by telling you that most hotels are within walking distance of the station and if you are flying there you canget a train direct from the airport also just outside the station there is a very goo travel advice centre they will if need be help you get a hotel or you can look on this site http://www.worldtravelguide.net/country/187/ge neral_information/Europe/Netherlands.html have a great time it is a fantastic city with plenty to do and see forget all about drugs and red lights that part is very minor another tip is when you down the main street from the station cant remember what it is called but there are a lot of resturants avoid them they are tourist traps go off the beaten track to find a good resturant that wont rip you off this information comes from someone who was married to a great dutch girl all tourist offices are marked v v v
