are there any websites that have a list of the duration of flights to different locations? tia sammxxxx

Yep - each airline has one. You'll probably find something similar on flight booking sites as well if you don't know what airline flies your route.
I wish there was, then we would get about half as many questions in this section.

despite the site name, it does work for european airports as well.
Mushroom's answer is the best. In calculating flight duration they even add in any transfer time when waiting at an airport to change planes.

Answer Bank really should have that website listed permanently on the Travel page to deal with Vehelpfulguy's observation!
Unfortunately, that site only seems to list scheduled flights. For example, I am going from Brussels to Funchal (Madeira) in September on a direct charter flight. The OAG site only gives the flying time via Lisbon.
