Dubai Airport

Hi Everyone

I am travelling from Heathrow to Joburg via Dubai. Both flights are 8 hours and I have a 2 hour stopover. My question is will I be able to shower/change etc at Dubai? When I arrive in Joburg I then have a 3 hour car journey so this will be my only oppertunity to freshen up for nearly 24 hours!!

There's an Irish bar there, filled with mercenary types on their way to Kabul or Baghdad... can't tell you about showers, sorry, but I'm sure you could find them.

some travel agents offer facilities such as a 'room' but i think its only when the Dubai stopover is greater than 6 hours or something, worth looking into tho to see if youre entitled to such a thing

If you have a ticket that gives access to the various business/first class lounges then there are excellent shower facilities at Dubai, certainly in the business lounge - I use it a lot. If you are in a frequent flyer programme (like Skywards from Emirates) then your membership details can often get you into the business lounge even if travelling on an economy ticket, but this varies from airport to airport and airline.

Don't know about the facilities otherwise but I think it is an excellent airport.

Showers are available..the cost is circa AED20, which includes towel, shampoo and a few other bits and bobs. I'd encourage you to rush there however as during the night, the airport is a bit of a heaving disaster!
