North Cyprus wouldn't be a place to consider buying property. When the Turks invaded, about 30 years ago, hundreds of Greek Cypriots were murdered or chased off their land.
Turks have now built on that land and sold some of what they've built. But the land still belongs to the Greeks, or their descendants. If Turkey ever joins the EU they might be forced to give the land, and the properties built on it, back to its rightful owners.

As for the Greeks and Turks differences its been going on for centuries. Look at the French and English or the Scots and English, Live and let live life is to short.
