We fancy a few days in Liverpool in April, does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of what to do & see? Also can anyone recommend an area to stay/good hotel?

Thanks!

Loads to do in Liverpool: Go on the Ferry 'cross the Mersey, 2 Cathedrals, Anfield Museum (need to book in advance for this I think), Albert Dock (which has a Beatles Museum and a Maritime Museum), Beatles tours (or buy a Beatles map and do your own), Paul McCartneys house, John Lennons house, Speke Hall, Croxteth Hall and Park., go to the Wirral (Port Sunlight - model village with the Lady Lever Art Gallery), I could go on and on.............Why not contact the tourist information office who I'm sure will send you some leaflets and also be able to help with accommodation (difficult to recommend without knowing your budget)
Forgot to mention China town with the largest Chinese Arch outside of Asia or something like that
Two 'bargain' hotels at the Albert Dock are the Campanile and Holiday Inn Express.

Don't stay at The Adelphi! It's filthy!

Thanks thepheebster. It's funny you should mention the Adelphi as I was watching sky the other day & an ancient old docu-drama came on that was shot there that did not impress us !

The programme about Liverpool made our minds up about visiting the city, but not the Aldelphi !
