This Friend

Haven't seen her maybe in two months but she is an alarmist but must say - she is losing weight rapidly. She has had a very fat face and the face is thinning too much also her clothes are beginning to hang on her. I never said anything to her cos I know she would worry. She says she feels fine otherwise.


She is an extremely sedentary lady - - watches TV all day and then to bed - nothing is done in the house and now she is telling me she is looking for a cleaner. She is for a test up the bum in a few weeks time so I do hope she is okay.

Well clearly if she's being sent for a Endoscopy there is something wrong.

Still can't understand what her lack of housework has to do with it or how you could possibly know that she does nothing but watch TV or bed 24/7.

She will be going for a Colonoscopy if its up her bottom.

I had a colonoscopy last year and I did have cancer of the sigmoid colon.
All the medical team must of thought I was once a real fat old b....ger because they couldn't understand that I hadn't lost an ounce even when I was going through chemo.
Loss of weight doesn't necessarily denote cancer and vice versa :-)

No I hadn't lost an ounce before I was correctly diagnosed. I am well built but that is why even the medical staff thought I must of been a porker (leaving former trade or calling aside). They couldn't accept I hadn't lost weight. Well not all but most. I never, thank God, lost my appetite as I am a bit of a trencherman :-)

I would recommend keeping in touch with this friend and being there for support while she has this test and when the results come through.

Rather than speculate all you can do is wait for the test results and be a good friend. If she's a 'lady' don't tell her you've been discussing her having a test 'up the bum'.
