No mention of it being Racist, no it is described as France's far right National Front party, an anti immigration and anti EU party.

Which gives the impression that it is a more acceptable political party than any of our own nationalist parties.

Who's followers are so often described as knuck-draggers, racist, Nazis, fascists, bigots, etc.

/// You said the impression is that Front National is more politically acceptable than the SNP ///

I have no objection to you challenging me for something I have actually said, but I take offence at you making up things that I haven't said, so as to somehow try and build up your own argument.
jomifl;//In reality we have about 10 'Arabs' ie 1% of the population//

That's as maybe, but you live in non-urban environment, 'in reality' it bears no relationship to the cities of France, the banlieues of which are frequently no-go areas where Sharia law is practiced. This state of affairs is accepted even by the police.
"The French are natural racists, that is why Le FN appeals to them. A rural friend of ours here in France thinks that our village which is only 10 Km from him is a hotbed of North African fundamentalism. In reality we have about 10 'Arabs' ie 1% of the population only 1 of whom goes to the mosque every Friday. "

Much as it pains me to say it, there is a lot of truth in that. It explains the popularity of the Front national with middle class voters. It is certainly true that the moslem population of France at large is mostly non-practising, and even a majority of believers don't go to prayers. Ironically, that is part of the problem, as many younger moslems feel alienated not only from "mainstream" French society and the policy of "take our culture or leave it" and their parents and older generations, who are nominally "moslem" but don't actually espouse the religion in any discernible form
Khandro, I think you missed my point.
ichkeria; //It is certainly true that the moslem population of France at large is mostly non-practising, and even a majority of believers don't go to prayers.//

If this was "certainly true" (which it isn't) then the 2300 mosques in France(with a further 200 to 250 planned) would be rather empty on Fridays (which they aren't).
It is true
I don't have access to the French census, but the following wikipedia link covers it
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_France#Estimations_based_on_declaration

"Among Muslims, 36% described themselves as "observant believers", and 20% claimed to go regularly to the mosque for the Friday service.[16] 70% said they "observe Ramadan". "

There are over 4 million moslems in France. Possibly a lot more. If there are 2300 mosques, even if only 800,000 (20% of a possible 4,000,000 attends Friday prayers in those mosques, then that means about 350 in each one. Which is quite a lot, so observing that "the mosques are busy" is hardly a very reliable guide"
It must be hell in there on Fridays!
It looks like it might be hell any day of the week :-)
j.; Where do they do the beheadings?
The town council are wondering what to do with the old abbatoir, it might make a good mosque.
ANOTHEOLDGIT, had I used quotation marks you would have been correct but since I hadn't you are wrong. You said "[the description of the Front National] appears to more politically acceptably than any of our own nationalist parties"

Is the SNP a nationalist party? If it is (and most folk would say it is) is it not included in "any of our nationalist parties?"

Do you think the SNP is less acceptable politically than the Front National and if so, on what is that based?
