I KNOW this is a question and answer site (it has been stressed to me a few times!!) but surely asking most of a quiz's questions (either all at once or "piecemeal") goes against the spirit of the quiz and particularly if the quizsetter requests people not to ask.

julia-mag - it does make a difference, yes. We get paid through advertisers placing their ads on our pages.
However, most of our traffic is from people searching through Google and finding the site - so it's swing and roundabouts. Or rather, Google defines a lot of the internet and how it is used, and we just bob along in their ecosystem. :)
Naturally, we need to keep the lights on - AB isn't a charitable endeavour - sadly! Although we encourage charity in the community.
QuizmasterG - I understand that frustration re: where is the line?
It may go against the "spirit of the quiz" - although you might have to explain the different spirits available. This might be more obvious to you than me as you are much more involved in the Q&P world.
We can't police for the desires of the setters, we just try and make sure everyone is getting on and not being rude to one another. We get around 500 questions a day posted on the site, with a magnitude more answers - we're not in a position to account for an external parties desire such as "no asking on AB until the full moon" etc.
This quiz was promoted in our round up here: http:// www.the answerb ank.co. uk/Quiz zes-and -Puzzle s/Quest ion1478 205.htm l
If the quiz setter wants us to stop promoting it, all they would have to do is let us know - this might reduce the number of people asking questions about it? I'm not sure how it helps the animal shelter though.

Julia - It's quite a benign form of it really - you don't pay to use the site but occasionally click an ad if you see something you like - and we don't have to be beholden to "paying customers" when it comes to discussions like this...
... and this discussion isn't really about the money of it, it's more about letting people use the site without grumpy comments :)

I'll answer your question over here: http:// www.the answerb ank.co. uk/AB-E ditors- Blog/Qu estion1 480487. html
oh wow i didnt expect that when i asked my questions, dont you think quizmasterg that i havent already google them unfortunatly i was unable to find these answers, and i did go with the setterand wait for the date, . i do a lot of quizzes not just picture ones and this one is not just pictures , and i dont always ask on here although you only see the ones i do ask for . however thank you to all the people who were their with there positive answers, although i never actually receive any answers to the quiz, never mind i will have to do a bit more searching or send it without, as i always do even it certain people don't believe me . and thanks to ab editor for your support
AB Editor you say you want proof you have killed quizzes, well you finished off mine. Sales reduced because too many answers where been given away, I know because told me they stopped doing it. So I tried with an answer curfew and finally with no saking and sales kept dropping to point where it was no longer worth putting the effort in to writing and marking the quiz for the money it raised for charity. Am I the only one, no, I know several other setters who reached the same point.

Hi Pedro,
I'm sorry to hear that. I do remember some comments relating to it.
We've moved this discussion to here: http:// www.the answerb ank.co. uk/AB-E ditors- Blog/Qu estion1 480487. html so you may want to post the same answer there to get into a fuller debate about it - which would probably be a good thing.
Additionally, you appear to be suffering from the Kaspersky issue, which you can read about here - if you haven't seen the solution already:
