Broken Power Socket On Sony Viao Laptop Vgn-Ns30Z Model
This morning I was dismayed to find that when I went to plug in the power cable to my Sony Viao laptop there appeared to be a piece missing where the cable plugs in at the back. Just a big hole there which will not contain the end of the power cable. Couldn't find the part that must of snapped off either.
I went to PC World but they cannot repair it as they say they can't get parts for Sony as they no longer produce computers.
This laptop is important to me so I would like to find a repairer who can canabalise parts which must still be around and repair it for me.
I'm in North West London. Can any member recommend a competent repairer please? Or suggest how I can alternatively power the laptop.

Then either fit it yourself or try to find an independent repairer who doesn't charge a fortune. Be warned, however, that socket repairs don't seem to come cheap. This firm (which isn't too far from you) charges £90 if they source the part:
