Help!

I've been given the following sheet to give to Y6 children in maths.

http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=13&ved=0ahUKEwjexdPL05jNAhWmDcAKHQAJCywQFghXMAw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.primaryresources.co.uk%2Fmaths%2Fdocs%2Fdiagonals_of_quadrilaterals.doc&usg=AFQjCNH-u4PFIKuLJyhjc0-JqiKmgRsprQ

I cannot find what Transect means anywhere on the internet!

Bisect I think means cut it in half so that you are left with 2 mirror images, but whatt does Transect mean. I just spoke to a couple of colleagues all of whom were quite baffled as to what it means because the example given has a square and under the column Transect it says NO. (pls see the sheet to see what I mean)

All help much appreciated.
Thank you in advance

^I just could not think of any other property of intersecting quadrilateral diagonals they could be referring to.
As I said before, teachers submit their own worksheets so I'm not sure if they are verified by anyone.
>>> All I can suggest is that they mean the diagonals intersect at right angles

I thought of that but then, surely, the answer should be 'Yes' for a square (when 'No' is shown on the worksheet) and 'No' elsewhere!
My brain hurts!
True elliemay. In that case maybe it means that they do NOT intersect at right angles!
IMO, it's not accurate.
>>> IMO, it's not accurate.

"Utter rubbish" would be my preferred term!
Well, I'm just trying to put it politely! I certainly wouldn't be using that worksheet!
I have found many excellent resources on sites like this and especially the TES site but for every resource I have to double check everything is usually at least one mistake and in some cases the resources are littered with errors and are unusable . I will look at your link in 30 mins Buenchico, thanks, but it seems like it is no reliable.
Have you been told to use this resource, Cmitchell?
Can you not decide on teh resources to use? What is teh lesson objective?
>>> I certainly wouldn't be using that worksheet!

Neither would I - unless the school had run out of toilet paper!

;-)
Just wonder who gave you the sheet to use, C Mitchell? Are you a supply teacher?
