OH was put on new medication Friday, Sunday started seizures, phoned for ambulance, cardiac arrest in ambulance, seizures continued throughout Monday and Tuesday, been in ICU since, aspirated into lungs, been on ventilator since, when they remove oxygen, saturation levels reach critical levels, hospital won't give guarantees, I understand that, but realistically what are the chances please. Thanks, was going to put TIA but somehow didn't feel right x

I presume he has a tracheostomy and when they try and decannulate him (take out his tracheostomy tube), he can't cope.
The prognosis depends upon what underlying condition he has, his age and his general condition.
My opinion....if he cannot manage without his ventilator, which seems to be the case, his prognosis (outlook) is poor.

Quick update, tracheotomy performed yesterday, still quite heavily sedated as coughing loads and becoming quite distressed during sedation hold. New antibiotics started for pneumonia, at least brain scan came back normal. Another problem is, not medically related, we have had an offer on our house which I know he would accept, whilst I can accept the offer, how do I go on if I can't get his signature if the sale goes through.
