Of course it is, primarily due to the fact that people live longer so there is a much higher percentage of really old people who are around due to better living standards and better drugs and medical care.

this is so false....most folk who have dementia die of another condition like strokes and heart attacks - ok as a sequitur to the disease, but just like cancer, it's something else that gets you.
