I have loved Strictly since it began, but the recent series was clearly fixed and the marking by the judges on this Xmas special is totally stupid. I know it's entertainment, but don't you think Strictly is a joke now?

Love Strictly but agree about the Xmas Special no way was Melvin the best he won to compensate him for the earlier fracas with Anastasia and the no dance off !!

Thank goodness its off now for a while and Len(I agreed with my colleagues) Goodman is now off the panel.
I didn't see the Xmas Special, but fail to see why anyone would think that the main series was fixed. The winner deserved to be in the final and was the best dancer on the night.
Do not for one second believe it was fixed! vernon, I don't know why you watch it, you are ALWAYS moaning about it !!
The problems with the programme which make believe it is fixed are,as I see it,the following.1) The voting is not transparent therefore any two couples could be in the dance off.2) You had a situation where two of the finalists were the head judges god children (the Cliftons). This should not be allowed to happen as favouritism can be cited against the Judges even if not true.3)Ed Balls was probably kept on an artifically long time to beat X factor in the ratings war.
Bur Ed Balls always came bottom in the judges' vote so must have been extremely popular with the voting public- unless of course you believe/know the public vote was rigged despite the independent check.
No-one has explained yet how the vote was fixed on Sunday so that Melvin won or given a convincing reason why the BBC would want to risk its reputation (further?) by fixing it just so Melvin would win- why would that be in their interests?
You hit the nail on the head in your 20:00 post

Ore and Melvin ticked the right boxes to win a BBC competition
So did the BBC also fix it when the black contestants went out in the early rounds or was that a fair result, but when some black people did well it was a BBC fix to even things up or because they felt guilty..
Love strictly and will defend it till the last breath in my body has has gone .psss any one see a big green Gordon's bottle .
I voted for Ed Balls in some of the earlier rounds and know others who did - we (the general viewing public) are an unknown quantity.

I still maintain anyone with the proof should raise it more publicly.
I love strictly but i didnt enjoy the christmas special it felt like a real let down some how
Never watched it , but cannot imagine the BEEB would risk any kind of compromising situation with vote rigging !
Have only just watched it, but thought Melvin's dance was considerably better than anything he performed in the live shows. The problem with the Christmas show is it's always very dependent on the one dance they get to perform (i.e. can't ever see anyone winning this with a cha-cha). Len's marking was, I agree, dreadful.
