WHAT HAPPENS IF THE PRIME MINISTER LOSES HIS SEAT?
His party would offer up a candidate to take over temporarily as a caretaker leader/prime minister. The Queen would then call the potential prime minister to Buckingham Palace to ask him whether he would form a government. The governing party would then hold a leadership election.
I lost track of this yesterday as I've a very short attention span.
Is anyone seriously suggesting that Mrs May might lose her Maidenhead seat? In 2015 she had a majority of more than 29,000.
"It is considered a safe seat for the Conservative Party, as it has never been held by a party other than the Conservatives, and nor were any of its predecessor constituencies."
If Mrs May loses her seat I think we should all pack up and contribute to the "net" migration figures.
I'm not sure how heading for the continent, having just tried to install a government seeking a Hard Brexit, makes much sense, but never mind. Such are the mysteries of life :)
If May loses her seat then I'll show JD's arris in Harrod's (isn't that the usual threat when something unexpected happens in these parts?)
