Actually, its half-true. I seem to remember that when a previous female Tory PM made one of her very rare visits to Wales coal did indeed bounce off the roof of her ministerial Rover.
I also recall that she decided to make an appearance at the Welsh Tory Party Conference, held in Porthcawl during the middle of the Miners Strike. About 10,000 Welsh miners turned out to welcome her.
In fact, they were so keen to extend that welcome, that at least as many Police also attended, lest she be overwhelmed by the warmth of our hospitality.
