I have just had a phone call, from the Tory Party !

It was someone asking me if I had voted and if I had, did I vote for my local Tory candidate.

Can I assure everybody that I was polite as was possible, under the circumstances !

Tilly....actually, at about 17:30 today, a bright blue Mini toured my estate, with a loudspeaker sticking out the window, extolling us to vote Tory !

It retreated when lumps of coal started bouncing off its roof.

Shame you made that last bit up, Mikey. I'd have paid good money to lob a lump of coal at 'em.

Actually, its half-true. I seem to remember that when a previous female Tory PM made one of her very rare visits to Wales coal did indeed bounce off the roof of her ministerial Rover.

I also recall that she decided to make an appearance at the Welsh Tory Party Conference, held in Porthcawl during the middle of the Miners Strike. About 10,000 Welsh miners turned out to welcome her.

In fact, they were so keen to extend that welcome, that at least as many Police also attended, lest she be overwhelmed by the warmth of our hospitality.

I did a lot of lobbing lumps of coal at nasty boys when I was a child. It was very satisfying, until I knocked one of them out. :-(
