Task Bar

Does anybody know how to reduce the size of the Task Bar Blue Pane at the bottom of my monitor... still using Windows XP.
I have unlocked The Taskbar and tried to drag it to make it smaller but no joy. TIA..J/Boy

right click windows icon bottom left corner, click on properties, then a windows opens, then click taskbar tick use small icons

Did what you said but I did not see a box to Tick for Smaller Icons, any other ideas/suggestions ?

You may have selected large icons in the taskbar
Unlock the Taskbar, left click an empty area of the “Quick Launch area” and select “View” Select “Small Icons”

Unless you choose to autohide it, it needs to be at least one row high, which you should be able to drag it down to.
