I have a Glow Worm 24cxi combi boiler which is 11 years old. It was losing pressure about a year or so ago so called in a GasSave engineer & he replaced the diverter valve. It has been ok since but just recently have noticed the pressure has been going down again & now it's 0.5 with the red light in the display flashing & no hot water. Under the boiler there's a blue knob & recall him saying to turn it till the pressure increases then turn it back. I wouldn't know what way to turn it, clockwise or anti clockwise & don't want to do the wrong thing & get water gushing out! Can anyone help me please? I would add I've checked all the radiator valves to make sure there's no dampness around them as I believe I am correct in saying a drop in pressure can be due to a leak somewhere. Hope you will be able to help. Thanks

That valve is only to bring the boiler up to pressure and is not connected to you rads. The meter that is showing red should be showing between 1 and 2 bar. There should be a little hose( usually a flexi metal weave clad hose). If it is fitted, turn the valve clockwise with the boiler off, until the gauge rises to about 1.5 bar. If it is not fitted find it(it will be...

Enter 'glow worm boiler low pressure' into google, and you'll get plenty of advice.

I've done that & even YouTube videos but nothing is telling me which way to turn the blue knob. Even the original paperwork for the boiler doesn't tell me!
Clockwise turns it on, usually.

If it is not fitted find it(it will be nearby) and fit it to the water main connected to the valve and the boiler inlet. It will not fit to the wrong connections.

Thank you for your help. Will go & explore!!

Well, I managed to turn the little blue knob underneath & the pressure increased to 1.2 bar pressure. I then turned the blue knob back. Unfortunately it seems I now have an occasional drip from under the boiler somewhere but it is only slight. Think a GasSafe engineer is called for in next few days. At least I now have hot water
Ta TheLewis, that drip will probably stop, it may just be a bit of condensation after letting cold water through a hot pipe and system. Before committing yourself to an expensive call out just check whether it stops.

Thanks Togo. Will check when I next go upstairs. It's was only an occasional drip but I've put a bowl in place

Togo. Looks like a gas man job. I've still got a occasional drip coming from somewhere under the boiler. It is only slight but will need attention. I appreciate your earlier replies
Certainly a good idea to have the boiler looked at, lewis. That small drip may be all that it takes to lose pressure in the system.
Yep Gas Man cometh I am afraid.
Hi Builder.......how's the "builders tan" coming? (^_*)

Luckily I have home emergency cover on my home insurance so rang them today. I have a gas man coming tomorrow afternoon & hoping the problem is not terminal but when I had my boiler serviced earlier this year I was told it was quite sick!!
