The Rise Of The Kkk
Do you think this is true?
Are the KKK becoming more popular?
If so, why?

My answer:
KKK and Nazis on the increase?
No, both groups have been in very short supply for some time now. Unfortunately the demand (in the case of some people, including many posters on AB ,the need) for such groups is undiminished. So in order to keep up with demand the standard for racism and Nazism has been debased, such that these days anyone who argues for, say, any form of immigration control qualifies as a racist and a Nazi.
Meanwhile there is an unholy coalition of groups which routinely resort to bullying and violence to silence opponents. (look at Berkeley when the "anti-fascists" torched the place to prevent Milo Yannopoulos speaking). Don't see much denunciation of left-wing thuggery; have seen some support for it by people like, well, SP.

//the standard for racism and Nazism has been debased, such that these days anyone who argues for, say, any form of immigration control qualifies as a racist and a Nazi.//
Apart from the Nazis in Charlottesville.
They were actual Nazis. They were giving the Nazi salute, and chanting some very choice sentiments about Jews.
...but they didn't drive a car into the counter-protesters. That was a white supremacist.
Regarding left wing thuggery - if it's against Nazis, the KKK and white supremacists, I'm not particularly bothered.
Like when I hear about a rapist being beaten up in jail.
I shrug.
It's not that I am necessarily for it, but I can understand it.

There are many who are voicing that concern.

Talbot - I realise you are struggling to grasp the concept, but SP is not on a 'side' - he, and the majority of posters on here, view violent protest as unacceptable, no matter which side is carrying it out, and the fervent attempts by some posters to infer that other posters think 'left wing' violence is OK, and 'right wing' violence is not are simply shouting into a bucket.
andy-hughes to Talbot at 21:45, // Do you think so? [that someone who beats up a bully, a murderer, or a lyncher is not a bad person.//
Read the posts. Talbot doesn’t think so. SP thinks so.

Contrary to your claim that // SP is not on a 'side' // …
… he is most definitely ‘on a side’ and he clearly doesn’t view violent protest as ‘unacceptable’.
Who is struggling to ‘grasp the concept’?

Naomi - As always, I am perfectly willing to be corrected if in error, and it appears that in this instance, I am in error.
I am surprised that sp espouses indifference to violence, I had always thought him to be more of a reasoned and sensible individual than to hold such views, but of course, I await any further comment he wishes to make to explain his post, if he wishes to offer it.

I've got to be honest, I think I am more of a Malcolm X person than a Dr King person. Had I been alive at that time (well, I was - but in nappies), I would've been on the side of fighting fire with fire. I'd like to believe in peaceful protest against Nazi, white supremacists and the KKK, but I'm not that good a person.
We all have faults.
But just to clarify something - I'm not talking about when people take it upon themselves to wreak violence on the opposition. I just do not believe in the whole 'turning the other cheek thing'.

Are you the only one allowed to post threads appertaining to Gays and Blacks?
/// I just do not believe in the whole 'turning the other cheek thing'. ///
You may not, perhaps that is why there are many who were brought up to turn the other cheek, but they are now fed up with being taken advantage of for their placidness, that they are now beginning to fight back.
