Sending SMS to phones in canada/usa
7 Answers
I'm based in the UK but have friends in the USA and Canada. I have their cellphone numbers and was wondering whether it's possible to send text messages to international phones such as these.
for instance one friend has sent me her new cell number from canada and it's 10 digits long. do i have to add a code to the front of this as i would if i was dialling her land line? any tips would be cool. thanks

I will try to find out what the code is, chances are it will be different in Canada to the US xx

Yes, I text USA all the time from UK and as their cellphones are no different than their landline numbers (unlike ours when you can tell its a mobile by the number) so you just put in their number as if you were calling USA i.e. 001 then the area code and then the number. Beware of it being more expensive though.
